Pokhara Metropolitan City Empowers SEE Graduates with Extensive Scholarships for Higher Education
Pokhara Metropolitan City has taken a significant stride towards fostering educational opportunities by offering comprehensive scholarships to 497 meritorious Secondary Education Examination (SEE) graduates. These scholarships will enable students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and underserved communities to pursue their Grade 11 studies across various subjects, entirely free of cost.
The highly anticipated scholarship examination, held on Saturday, saw a rigorous selection process, ensuring that deserving students are provided with this crucial support. Out of the successful candidates, 162 students were selected for Science, 201 for Management, 80 for Hotel Management, and 14 for Law, Humanities, and Education streams.
To enhance the transparency and reliability of the selection process, the Metropolitan City utilized Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology for checking the examination booklets. This commitment to an organized and dignified examination is a testament to the city's dedication to fair and merit-based scholarship distribution.
Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya emphasized the Metropolitan City's unwavering commitment to facilitating the academic journey of these successful students. "This year, to make the scholarship selection exam more organized, dignified, and reliable, OMR technology was also used for checking," stated Mayor Acharya. He further assured that the Metropolitan City will facilitate the admission of all selected students into designated schools for their free studies.
The Metropolitan City has urged all successful scholarship recipients to contact the Education Division by July 9th (Asadh 25) to complete their admission formalities. Furthermore, Mayor Acharya confirmed that all concerned schools have been instructed to compulsorily admit students recommended by the Metropolitan City, ensuring a smooth transition into their higher education.
This initiative by Pokhara Metropolitan City highlights its dedication to promoting education and empowering the youth, particularly those who might otherwise face financial barriers to pursuing their academic aspirations. By investing in the education of its SEE graduates, Pokhara is paving the way for a brighter future for its citizens and the region as a whole.
